|| Hare Srinivasa ||

Sri Hari Bhaktaralli Vinanti,

Most of us have questions on ..........

What is Deva-Yagana ? Brahma-yagna ? Pitru-yagna ? Vaishvadeva ? Baliharana ?
Why should we do it? What is the right time to do it? What should be the thought behind these rituals? What sort of anusandhAna is required to perform these yajnas?

There will be lots of unanswered questions in our mind on the above subject.

To get the answers for the each of those questions in detail, a seminar cum workshop was held on "Pancha–Mahayajna".

Many of us do Sandhyavandana, but we don't know the meaning of the each mantra.

So to know the meaning of each and every mantra of Sandhyavandana, a demo session was organized on "Sandhyaanushthana".

Get enlightened by the most learned Vidwans, Achars & Pandits of our Madhwa Siddhantha….

Namaste all,

Further to our mail on the event of Pancha Maha YajnagaLu, we are glad to inform you all about the successful completion of the same over the weekend with a overwhelming response, participation and sense of fulfilment.

Here is a brief sequece of events that we had -

Saturday, June 7th 2008:

09:30 AM - An introduction speech by Vidwan Shri C H Shrinivasamoorthyachar, about the program itself, need for the Pancha Maha YajnagaLu (PMY), Appreciation to Sri Sheshagiri and his family, remembering all the good deeds by his father Late Sri Mukundachar, conveying gratitudes to Poorna Prajna Samshodhana Mandira & Vidya Peeta and ofcoruse to Madhwa Yuva Parishat and its active participation, commitments.
He thanked Vidwan Sri Hayavadana Puranik for having accepted to be the Presiding Authority for the two days session, overseeing the delivery of sessions under each of the heading and helping the speakers and the audience during the process. No need to say about the life, works and deeds of Sri Puranik and he is known to be the walking encyclopedia of Madhwa Siddhantha, who happens to be of the first batch of Sudha certification under the guidance of HH Sri 1008 Sri Vishwesha Theertharu. He is currently leading a research effort at Rashtriya Samskriti Vidya Peeta at Tirupati and also partly taking care of the Vidya Peeta at Mantralaya. We were all blessed to have his august presence with us for both the days.

09:45 AM - Inauguration by HH Sri 1008 Sri Videyshatirtha Swamiji of Sri Bhandarkeri Math and Anugraha Sandesha by him, with detailed information on PMY. He also released the two pictures which were conceptualised and produced by Sri Sheshagiri on the
DHYANA ROOPA of Gaayatri mantra and Narayana Ashtakshara mantra. All the participants received the photos from Sri Swamiji along with Anugraha mantrakshate, after which srigaLu departed.

11:15 AM- Vidwan Shri Dhananjayachar rendered the session on "Pirtu-yajna", with so much of finesse, covering all aspects and explaination to each of the mantra and deeds during the process.

12:15 PM - We had a break in the session for the Tirtha prasada at Sri Krishna Mandira, where we were served with the Prasada.

15:00 PM - We reconvened after a break and Vidwan Shri Tirumalachar rendered the session on "Deva-yajna ( Deva pooje)"

16:00 PM - All the participants had a pleasant surprise to witness the blissful entry of Sri 1008 Sri Vishewesha Teertha Swamiji of Sri Pejawar Mutt, who happened to be in the town and came to bless all of us with not just his ashirvachana but also handled a detailed Q & A session on the topics covered so far. We could not have asked for a better person to deliver this to us.

16:30 PM - Vidwan Shri Chaturvedi Vedavyasachar rendered the session on "Deva-yajna (Vaishwadeva) and Bhoota-yajna", which was the most interactive session of the day and also we witnessed a good session of vAk-goshti by all the assembled Vidwans debating on the process, procedure, pramANas for all the rituals and the right way of doing them. A lot of smrutis were quoted in support and it was a treat to watch this all happening right infront of us. This was also followed by a Q & A session from Sri Chaturvedi Vedavyasachar, accompanied by all the other Vidwans in the assembly.

18:00 PM - Summarized speech by Vidwan Shri Hayavadana Puranik, covering the events of the day and answering last minute queries.

18:30 PM - Participants in need were served with Coffee, after which we dispersed for the day with a sense of accomplishment

Sunday, Jun 8th:

09:30 AM - After a brief introduction and recap of the events on the previous day, Vidwan Shri C H Badarinathachar rendered the session on "Manushaya-yajna" followed by a Q&A session where our presiding authority also pitched in.

10:45 AM - Vidwan Shri Krishnakumarachar, who had come all the way from Mysore rendered the session on "Rushi-yajna" followed by a Q&A Session.

12:00 Noon - we had a Q and A session for "pitru-yajna" Vidwan Shri Hayavadana Puranik on public demand again.

14:00 PM - All the participants were given a gist about what is MYP?, how does it function?, what are our objectives?, and there was a open session to welcome and seek suggestions on how to do different things and how to do things differently. A very useful and interactive session for all of us, especially the MYP Core Team.

15:00 PM - Vidwan Shri Satyanarayanachar rendered the session on "Sandhyavandane", with such a detailed explaination and quotes from various purANas, smritis etc and this too was one of the most interactive and well appreciated session.

17:30 PM - a lengthy Q and A session by Vidwan Shri Satyanarayanachar and by Vidwan Shri Hayavadana Puranik

18:00 PM - Keynote address by the Presiding Authority, followed by concluding speech by Vidwan Shri C H Shrinivasamoorthyachar with honoring Vidwan Shri Hayavadana Puranik with fruit basket, Shawl and a Beautiful idol of Krishna on his crossed legs with the flute in his hands.

To everybody's surprise, Sri Sheshagiri had made arrangements to record the whole session of two days and as soon as the last Q&A session ended, he had the CDs with the MP3 file burnt on CDs and covered with his signature art, the CDs were distributed to the participants at a nominal value to cover the cost of CDs and burning services. Vidwan Shri Hayavadana Puranik released the program CD, which were taken up in a matter of few mins. We apologise to those people who could not get the CDs.

We will definitely make it available in a day or two for those who have already paid the amount.

Vote of thanks was rendered by Vidwan Shri Ranganathachar Katti We thank all our Madhwa Bandhus, who made it for the seminar amidst all their buy schedule and found the sessions to be very informative. Our sincere thanks to Vidwan Sri AV Nagasampige Achar and the staff of Poorna Prajna Samshodhana Mandira for providing us the guidance on this seminar. Our thanks to Sri Keshavachar and staff of Poorna Prajna Vidya Peeta for taking care of our needs from time to time.

We are keen to organise this session once again, subject to the availibility of the bank of Vidwans in the next available opportunity.

Please check out some of the pics of the event, attached with this mail.
